Berliner Dom Asian Night, Thursday 29 September 2005

Autumn is coming along again and this time, I thought we will do something unusual and combine old with new, West with East, sweet with sour, heavy with light, red with blue, wet with dry, blah, blah, etc. You get the drift. :o)

Anyway, seriously, we have a really cool event planned for September 2005, at a wonderful location, and with a special seafood and duck menu organised just for us, and if you don't come to this one, you will be kicking yourself afterwards! The location is the ultra-modern Noodle Kitchen, which, despite its name, does a truly wonderful selection of everything else Asian, not only noodles. The restaurant is located in the really nifty Radisson SAS Hotel, Karl-Liebknecht-Straße 1, D-10178 Berlin and the place faces the Berliner Dom just across the Spree. When we walk in, we will also be having a look at Europe's largest indoor aquarium as well, so it is a rather unique place.

Like I said, we have arranged a special menu at a special price, a bit like the Spring Banquet earlier this year, only this time, it is for very stylish modern Asia cooking done by a top chef, who I have sampled before in London.

The menu is as follows:

Starter Courses

Asiatische Vorspeisen Teller
Satay
Spieß vom Huhn mit Erdnüßsoße

Shomai Dim Sum
Gedämpfte Teigtasche mit Schweinefleisch-Garnelenfüllung und Shiitake
Pilzen

California Sushi
Krebsfleisch, Avocado, Frischkäse, Masago und Sesam

Haro Maki
Frühlingsrolle mit Sojasoße

Main Course

Cantonesische Ente
mit Pak Choi und gebratenen Reis

Dessert

Noodle Kitchen Dessert Variation

As a note, the cook used to be the head cook at the famous Wagamama in London, so he really knows his stuff, and I seriously think this is going to be a good night out. The price for the above menu is just 25 Euros excluding drinks, so it is very good value for money, as I think it represents a discount of some 40+% on the menu prices!

Anyway, I don't think I need to add any more, as you would probably be already hitting the reply button by now. But just in case you are not familiar with the rules, it is first come, first served and we have allowed for only 15-20 places at the moment. So get your emails in NOW to me at chris@berlindinnerclub.com or you will have only yourself to blame if you miss this one!

See you soon!

Chris

How it went on the night...

Well, I personally think the best part of the meal was the dessert. The rest of the food is good, but not spectacular and some of the drinks were not cheap either, but I guess that's par for the course in a top hotel like the SAS Radisson. We met some nice new members, and one them took these great pictures. I wish I can take pictures like Yulia...
