MANI kinds of style dinner, Sat 26 Jan 2013

For the first dinner of 2013, we propose a little get-together to start the DC 2013 season with a little bit of style. But for us, style does not always equate to expensive, and style is not always cosy either - but the restaurant we picked is quite special in that it is stylish, cosy, warm, interesting and not at all expensive!

So the kick-off dinner of 2013 will be a intriguing dinner at a newish place called Mani, where chef Martin Schanninger conjures up a culinary trip starting from the Middle East, through the Mediterranean and back to Europe - you guessed it - the style of cuisine is fusion with Middle Eastern influences. Mani also gets many seriously good reviews and an impressive assortment can be seen on http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g187323-d2707947-Reviews-or10-Mani_Restaurant-Berlin.html#REVIEWS - it is also the Scene Restaurant in Berlin for 2012, whatever that means.

Anyway, the restaurant is in the pretty Hotel Mani in Torstrasse 136, 10119 Berlin so it is very easy to find. The rest of the information you need to know is that the closing date for bookings is Wed 23 Jan as the dinner is booked for Saturday 26 Jan 2013. So block the date in your diary and get your fingers typing an email now to Sylvia to book your place for this interesting, cool dinner - we think it is a splendid way to start the dinner club year. If you need to check it out more, their website is on http://www.amanogroup.de/en/eat-drink/mani-restaurant/

See you soon!

How it went on the night...

We had a nice warm welcome at this unusual restaurant which had a very stylish black theme, complete with a pretty fire sizzling coolly in the middle of the dinner room. Everything worked out well on the night, especially the service even though we were quite a crowd. The food was pretty exciting, different and very well prepared - where else can you get a gooseburger garnished with banana, red potato, normal potato, sweet potato chips? Even the starters alone would be worth the effort going there. The red beet in pine sauce and granat apple pieces was extremely delicious and so were the others appetisers. So we all cannot complain about the dinner and I will certainly go back, especially to try out all the other starters.
